It’s September 1st and I’ll be 35 this month! So much has changed with my health since having my baby boy who will be 3 in January.
Looking at this picture I took one week ago, you might be thinking, “why the hell would you be trying to lose weight?” But it’s not this picture that makes me feel the way I do.
It’s feeling the way I do.
My coaching biz has been non – stop and as a full time stay at home Mama who is trying her best to take care of herself, I’m battling high numbers of Epstein Barr which makes me feel very sleepy and lower energy than what I’m used to.
Since I’ve been pregnant before I know what the first trimester fatigue feels like and that’s how I feel more often than not.
Bode was born at the beginning of January 2017 and I battled PTSD and postpartum hypothyroidism, adrenal hypofunction and epstein barr, which I believe is the root of my extreme fatigue.
I went to detox school in Florida May of 2017 to become a detox specialist and it was there that I decided veganism was the only way to heal.
So I was 100% completely vegan for an entire year and felt great the first 6 months and horrible the last 6.
I was reminded again that anything extreme doesn’t work for me.
Started eating minimal amounts of meat and stopped taking supplements because I was getting everything I needed in the form of food.
I’ve pretty damn good about what I eat which is why my thyroid numbers look awesome!!!! My naturopath told me, the thyroid can improve if diet and lifestyle factors improve dramatically. She says it’s a really good sign and when core health is fully restored then I can kill EBV better.
The other thing I added in was chinese herbs.
I’ve been taking herbs for over a year now and have a rollercoaster relationship with them. Some concoctions gave me an allergic reaction and others made me feel like Superwoman!
Recently I’ve noticed the scale going up, which hasn’t happened since 2012, even with childbirth I went back down quickly and stayed there.
I know what this is, it’s hormones shifting and EBV trying to take me down again.
I’m going to be completely honest about what I’m eating, how much water I’m drinking, what I’m doing to work out and take care of myself and what supplements/herbs I’m taking.
Starting Weight: 130
Normal Weight: 125
I’m 5’4″ and giving myself 10 days to lose 5 pounds based on my expertise in losing weight while dealing with an auto immune and hormone challenges.
Here’s what I’ll be focused on every day:
- 10,000 steps
- 3 liters of water
- No eating after 6:30pm
Symptoms I’m looking to reduce:
- Bloating (nutrition, hydration, more juicing)
- Fatigue (nutrition and supplements)
- Stiffness (inflammation)
- Puffiness in face (lymph isn’t draining)
Best time to give yourself a 10 day challenge too! September is our transition from summer to fall equinox.
