girl, you got it goin’ on… let’s amp it up today

I couldn’t wait any longer to drop these wisdom pearls into your lovely brain today.

I dropped my sweet angel face off at pre-school, (no…  I wasn’t kicking my heels in the air as I walked home… by myself!!) and had this instant intuitive hit that I needed to share with you.

You can’t play small anymore.

You can’t not do the thing your heart is telling you to for anymore.

Stop talking yourself out of making a choice that will change everything.

Book the ticket.

Take the class.

Stop looking at the recipe and make the damn thing.

Drink the water.

Lace up your shoes and hit the ground speed walking.

Wake up the first time the alarm goes off.

Dance like a crazy person… like I did to Beyonce this morning while my toddler boogied along with me.

Go outside.

Sit down and read the book.

Close your computer.

Get the juicer out.

Eat a banana and stop worrying about all the sugar.

For god’s sake…. put your life in motion girlfriend!

Here’s what happened to me when I decided to go for it…

  • I became a 5 time sold out retreat leader… (6th coming up April 2020 in California!)
  • I went from charging $150 an hour to more than $5,000 for 6 sessions (rates increase every year because my value continues to go up!)
  • I went on two retreats last year… for myself! (retreat leaders need to be a participant… it’s vital to filling up the tank)
  • I stopped having auto immune symptoms because I followed through and trusted the process (no more thinking I knew better than  a trained Chinese herbalist!)
  • I stopped seeking and started receiving (now I’m repeatedly asked to speak at events, go on radio interviews and more!)
  • My confidence to put together outfits that fit my body, my style and my personality started surfacing and girlfriend, I feel damn good at 35!

But if I never went for it, like full 100% in, I’d be waking up with extreme fatigue wishing I knew what to do with my life, continuing to go from job to job, training to training.

Not this girl and not you either.

Put yourself first.

I promise you, it’s life changing.

Day 8,9 and 10 of 10 Day Auto Immune/Weight Loss Challenge

Wow! Here’s what I’ve learned about myself: I cannot write consistently for 10 days straight! I finished the challenge in terms of eating more real food, juicing every day and exercising, but tack on journaling and I fell short!

I’d like to blame so many things….. lack of sleep due to toddler wake ups, not wanting to type and instead of present to my kid, etc. All the bullshit excuses for not completing something.

My results: Lost 4 pounds, recorded a podcast episode about it and decided that instead of finishing this blog journal, the podcast would be sufficient, but HEY it was another excuse!

Who knew that the mindset queen would have her own hiccups?

This happened the last time I did a 30 day yoga challenge and a 3 day juice fast. I ended up hating yoga, took a break and only made it one day into my juice fast! HA! I used to be such an extremist, but in my older age 😉 I’ve softened and I don’t like extremes anymore. I’d rather live as balanced and healthy as I can without missing out on the good stuff….and life… and real moments.

I also learned that when I have food prepped and ready to grab and heat or grab n’ go I’m like a super human.

OH and protein bars and me don’t like each other. I was hooked on macro bars for years, but haven’t touched one in a few weeks and I don’t think I like them anymore. I’d rather wake up, drink a juice, eat a banana and figure it out for the rest of the day!

Plus, waking up to juice is like an instant trip to the bathroom. Celery runs through you girl, let me tell you…

I’ve been loving celery, lemon, apple and ginger juices freshly made by me or my hubs, who’s also started to love juicing.

It’s contagious.

When you see people glowing and feeling good, you can’t help but wonder what they do!

So that plus…

homemade smoothie bowls, jasmine rice and chicken with avocado and basil, gluten and dairy free grilled cheese sandwiches, cucumbers and hummus or turkey sausage and eggs or avocado toast or a delicious smoothie packed with berries, dates, spinach, coconut milk and hemp seeds… this is what dreams are made of…

Also – cravings change based on weather, season, that time of the month, etc.

Thanks for being a part of the challenge!

Lovin’ Life,

DAY 6 and 7 OF 10 DAY WEIGHT LOSS + AUTO IMMUNE HEALING CHALLENGE

Finally coming out of the sickness fog.

YES!!!!!!

I haven’t weighed myself simply because… I forgot!

I will check in with you tomorrow after I weigh myself and it’ll be interesting because despite feeling like doggy poo, I worked out for TWO HOURS on Day 7.

First workout was Orange Theory and second was Pure Barre. I had two sick day appetites on days 6 and 7 and didn’t adhere to my 6:30pm cut off due to two late night workouts.

To say I’m sore would be an understatement.

Every time I get the opportunity to work out I almost always take it because my husband is a fireman, which means he is gone two days a week and I can’t make it to the studio, where I love to go.

If only there were childcare at studios, THAT would be amazing. If I ever open one, I will have an awesome room with childcare because Mom’s should be able to work out/teach fitness classes if they want too!

Finding a babysitter for a one hour class is almost impossible, expensive and annoying. And having a husband get off a grueling 24 hour shift to immediately do the handoff feels cruel. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you had a three day a week babysitter when you get your baby from the hospital? Someone that could stay home while your kid naps so you can workout, go to the grocery store and run errands for a few hours? I know… it’s called a nanny/babysitter. But what if it was just a clone of you so you felt like they were getting the best of the best while you were gone?

Here’s what I ate:

Day 6:

same as day 5, except for dinner:

gluten free noodles from Costco with homemade pasta sauce that my husband made with a side of minestrone soup from Massimo’s Italian restaurant. Bon Apetit!

Day 7:

my sister spent the night and we decided gluten free pancakes was the best choice and IT WAS. I use Bob’s red mill muffin mix (the only Bob’s that’s no sugar added, so 0 grams processed sugar) + 2 eggs + 1 1/4 cup homemade coconut milk, 2 tbsp earth balance vegan butter, cinnamon and blueberries. Delish. I had two humongous ones..

Then I had a mini macro bar, because our fruit was gone and since my go to pre – workout is a banana, a macro bar would do. I realized I was starving, so I had another one…. thank god because I ended up in a two hour workout.

Coconut water.

STARVING.

Watermelon juice with basil, lime and salt post Pure Barre.

These puff things they had at Whole Foods while I grocery shopped.

Then showered for 3 years and came downstairs to my husband making the world’s most delicious post workout dinner.

This is where I ate to my hearts content.

BACON WRAPPED CHICKEN WITH AVOCADO, LETTUCE, TOMATO, AVOCADO MAYO IN GLUTEN FREE TOAST.

I had TWO. Which means I ate four pieces of bread and I loved every second.

I drank so much water too!!!!!!!!

Excited to see what Day 8 brings me in terms of nutrition and weight. I’m guessing an easy 127 even, but we shall see. My muscles are popping and I’m finally almost 100% better.

I gotta buy some produce to make more juice, so I’m set for the week before our big trip to California for two VERY big reasons: bestie’s 35th bday and retreat research!

COULDN’T BE MORE EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!
